Homework is a valuable part of the instructional program, with extension and expansion of student learning facilitated by the assignment of meaningful and manageable student work.  Generally, homework is to be done independently, or with minimal supervision.  This is an important factor in building student responsibility.  Parents are encouraged, however, to show interest in their child's homework, and to provide an appropriate setting, free of distraction, to promote quality work.

Homework is typically assigned 4 days per week. It will may consist of reading, either aloud or independently for 20-30 minutes. There is a board policy of homework posted on the TVUSD website. Many teachers are moving to web based homework. Please check your child's teacher's website for homework updates.
