Bicycles

Third, fourth and fifth graders may ride their bikes to school.  Please remember that:

1.  Bikes and helmets should be locked up at all times in one of the two bike racks.

2. Bikes must be walked on and off campus.

3. Students MUST wear a helmet.

4. Please chose the shortest and safest route with your family.

5. Skateboards, scooters, roller blades, and shoes with wheels are NOT allowed on campus.

 

Cell Phones

Students may bring a cell phone to school, however it must remain off during school hours and in the child's backpack.  If your child needs to communicate with you during the school day, they can notify school personnel.

 

Student Messages

Please ask for a message to be communicated to your child only in an emergency.  Please confirm plans for pick-up prior to your child coming to school. Classroom interruptions will be kept to a minimum.  A note will be given to your child's teacher at their lunch break if you have an urgent message.

 

Arrival

Playground supervision begins at 8:45 am.  Do not send your child to school prior to 8:45 am. There will be NO adults to supervise them.

 

Lost and Found

The lost and found is in a rolling cart, at the lunch tables.  This is donated at the end of every semester or when it is full. Please make sure you mark your child's clothing with their name.

 

Visitors

Visitors are required to enter and exit through the front door only and check in at the office during the instructional day.  Visitors will be issued a visitor sticker which must be worn at all times while on campus. If you want to volunteer in the classroom, you will need a current TB test and Megan's Law paperwork on file. Please see the front office for this paperwork.

 

Library and Text Books

Students are responsible for all textbooks and library books issued to them during the school year.  All lost or damaged books must be paid for.  Money collected for reimbursement will be recorded by the office staff and paid to the proper fund for replacement purposes. The final report card will be held until any unpaid fines are paid.

 

Lunches

Hot lunches may be purchased daily for $2.50.  Students may pre-purchase lunches by the week or month. It is through our PayPams system. You can click HERE to be linked to the TVUSD PayPams page. Lunch menus are on the district nutrition website as well. If your child is bringing their lunch from home, they may purchase only a milk if they would like.  If your child leaves their lunch at home and you bring it during the day, please drop it off at the office.  It will then be given to the cafeteria for pick up at your child's lunch time.

 

Progress Reports and Report Cards

Beginning the 2012-2013 school year, only students who are "at-risk" will receive a progress report card. However, Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in October for all students. All students will receive a report card at the end of each semester. The cut off dates are Winter Break and the End of the School Year. You can set up a conference with your child's teacher at any time if you have questions or concerns.
